Music has been a central force in his life since the age of seven, when his parents enrolled him in classical piano lessons. His father played a pivotal role in nurturing Maxwell’s passion for improvisation, not only in music but also in freehand graffiti and freestyle rapping. During his time at North Atlanta High School, Maxwell honed his skills by performing in the school’s big band, arranging and leading the jazz combo, and taking on professional gigs throughout Atlanta. His diverse musical upbringing has shaped his distinctive style as a pianist, rapper, and producer, drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres. His influences include Armenian jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan, legendary producer Quincy Jones, and groundbreaking artists like Outkast’s André 3000 and Kendrick Lamar.
Maxwell’s mission is to push the boundaries of popular music and contribute to its evolution. He is passionate about incorporating fresh harmonic, rhythmic, and melodic techniques, often utilizing ethnic scales such as Egyptian, Hungarian, and Japanese to create innovative sounds. He believes in the power of blending musical styles from across the globe to craft unique and compelling ideas, aiming to inspire a new era of musical creativity.
